Frequently asked questions
How does the Chinese level test work?
You answer a few quick Chinese vocabulary questions, from easy to hard. We estimate your level on a scale of six steps, from beginner to mastery, and suggest what to read first.
How long does it take, and is it free?
About 3 minutes. It is free and needs no account. If you create one, your result is saved.
How accurate is the test?
It is a quick estimate based on vocabulary, not an official exam. Use it to choose where to start, and move one level up or down if lessons feel too easy or too hard.
